Awesome new Octura product for .12 motors

Friends, Octura has just come out with an awesome new collet that will make life MUCH easier to run the SG style crank car motors in our boats. These collets have the 1/4X28 threads and a small pilot portion the reaches up inside the flywheel the grab the threads on the crank. With one of these collets and one of my Nova flywheels it takes only minutes to get one of the cars motors ready to go in your boat. It has never been easier!!!

Right now I only have the collets for the .150" cable, but will have the .130" and .062 wire sizes soon.

Kevin, no I don't have a time line...Trudy told me next time she has the small collets made she will have some done with the 1/4X28 thread.

what about timing in car engines in regards to boat use?

David, some of the .12's and .21's from the 4-wheelers work and some don't. I spent a lot of money and found out some that don't. Usually an O.S. is a good bet as the boats seem to like their timing. Martin Truex did some work with them before the killer Nova Rossi's made the scene. For the money, the NR is still the best bang for the buck but those that might have an old .12 or .21 laying around that they'd like to try in a boat or do a budget build, this collet is a blessing.

With air-cooled heads, you don't need all of those cooling fins either so you only need just a couple of them to do the job. You're getting cool air off the water, not hot off a dusty dirt track.

FYI, I have used octura #OCFH1415 for .150 shafts with an SG crank and you don't have to cut the pilot shaft off. It's long enough that the shaft still tightens without cutting the crank. You do have to thin the novarossi flywheel though to get enough thread engagement.

The part number is OCFH1415716. Like I said before, this collet and one if my Nova flywheels is the quick and perfect solution to the SG shaft problem when you want to run a small cable.
