Im going on 55 no school for me. I dont see a automotive related job paying enough soon I will explore my options. No factory that pays well will hire me,no industrial experience

I hear ya Mike, I am 55, 30 years in Dealerships, Ford and Chrysler, Ford senior master and can't make the money anywhere else, just hope the work and the body holds out till retirement.

If you get back in school some get hired right out of school programs. Machine shops dont need kids with no experience who will crash their machines. I would rather hire a responsable adult with good work ethics if I had my own shop. I had to switch at 40 like Dave and retired a year and a half ago as one of the top paid machinist/ tool makers in the trade.
