3m automotive double sided tape...... cheap double sided tape won't do the job.

Cuts off with dental floss or fishing line.

No problem!
3m has a water proof double sided tape that I use, Make sure the outside paper is red, there is a green outside paper and does not hold up to the water. You can buy it a the local Ace or whatever hardware store. A roll of about 15 ft is about $4.00

Yes Walt, The red backing one is the stuff I use too! The backing material seems to be some sort of thin flexible plastic.

They market it as an automotive product in Oz, used for sticking external moulding trims on cars. You can get it here thru Automotive paint stores.

here ya go.. test with some cheaper stuff.. once you get where you want it.. use this

3M VHB Foam Tape for Hard-T0-Bond Surfaces #4952, Dbl Side Adhesive, .045" Thk, 3/4" W X 5 YD

3M Scotch-Mount is the trade name for the line of heavy duty automotive trim & moulding tape. Part #021200-06378 is the ticket as this part no. comes 7/8" wide. Been using this stuff for quite some time & it works great. One word of advice, measure twice and be absolutely certain to carefully place each sponson EXACTLY where you want it as there is no moving it once contact is made, seriously kick azz stuff. B)

Thanks Guy's, I found the 3M Scotch-Mount tape at the local auto parts store.

Here is a picture of my new .12 rigger. This picture does not do the paint job any justice.

Mark, is it the same type you bought? Price also seemed pretty steep, was just for the correct package. Now have to start looking where i can find it overhere in the Netherlands.

Yes it is the same stuff. It really holds and you can use dental floss or fishing line to seperate the sponson from the tub when needed.

Really it's not if you build a few over time. What you bought is actually "kind of spendy" as this roll is 20 yards (60 feet) or about 66 cents a foot. Also it's 7/8" wide, I'm betting yours is 1/2" wide as that's what most LAP stores carry. I'm still on the same roll I bought over 4 years ago and I've been known to build a few here & there. ;)
