AM sport 40 mods

Short of buying another boat, what mods can be made to the AM hulls to make them more competative? Mine is weighting in over 9lbs dry and seems awful heavy. AA45 eng.

Unfortunatly, even back in the day, when engines didn't produce the power they now do, that hull didn't have what it takes to compete.

My suggestion is to find a used, (or new) Phil Thomas SS45 hull, or an AC sport-40

If you are a builder, you might want to give a ML Boat Works hull a try

I'd buy the ac if I wasn't building a sx400. IMO ac boats are the best quality you can buy. Gel coat finished and workmanship as good as anything
