<_< First off: ANDY DON'T HIT ME !! or SHOOT ME. <_<

I am motivated to ask this because I have SOOOOO many pipes of differant size, shape and volume that I must have something damm close to a "45 paribolic" and not even know it ?

The max diameter of the AB paribolic is quite abit larger that most .45 pipes. and theirfor by its larger diameter and longer rear cone it would have a MEAN point of reflection that is further back from the weld seam. Which would make sence that you can run this pipe at 9 1/2" C/L to weld.

So is anyone using any bigger volume pipes? say .67 stuff thats restingered and able to shorten it down to these specs and have it run well?

Some of the older OPS, International, and muck pipes seem very close but are .60 to .80 applications and some big headered and big stingered. Any luck in using non specified pipes on a .45 MAC ??? with good results. Scott

Scott, The main you things you need to compare are the cone lengths. As you know, you will need to reduce the stinger sizes if they were .67/80 pipes and if the volume is bigger than your existing pipe then you will need to stinger down smaller than the stinger on the .45 that you already have to maintain a similar exhaust gas temperature. Headers can be a problem but the stinger is the critical factor in these pipe comparisons. I updated a little about these comparisons on the lower part of this page:

Scott,

I'm easy to get along with. LOL!!

Just take all those pipes , a case of fuel, and go to the lake.

P.S Get there early and Pack Lunch! LOL!!

P.P.S. We'll have more 45 parabolic pipes in stock soon. LOL!!!!!

Hello Scott, Andy says pack a lunch and get there early but I found it quite easy to find a pipe to work with my Mac 45 and a RC Marine Sport 40. I tried to get one of Andy's pipes but at the time they were not availible so I used the same pipe I used on the boat with a Picco 45 EXR and Whala zippin around the lake in no time at all. I will however say that this is the only pipe I tried and there will be when time allows and after I aquire one of Andy's pipes some more expiermenting.

MACS 7.5 cc Quite pipe and only 86 Db> music to my ears........and yes even though I am nearly deaf I can still hear the music.

Good Luck!

I know many around here, myself included, have used the OPS 628 pipe on 40's with good success for years. I choke the header to 5/8" and the stinger to 3/8", you could start at about 10 1/4" engine C/L to weld and go from there. Of course you'll have to muffle it, I'm using the "internal stinger" method to get in the low 90dB range.
