The Altamotive line of Zenoah/QD engine mounts were released late last year. The mounts were in development and testing the previous two years and have been used in multiple national championship and record setting boats.

Quick facts:
Designed for performance, durability and ease of use. They're fabricated from 4130 chromoly steel with a QPQ nitride finish which is the same as many high end rifle barrels. It's very hard and very corrosion resistant (not to be confused with black oxide).

Through FEA optimization, the mounts are as light (or lighter in the case of drop mounts) as aluminum mounts while being more durable and compact.

By using a material that is roughly 3 times stronger than aluminum the material can be thinner and the geometry more compact. This allows greater wrench clearance and room for flange nuts (no separate washers to chase around during engine changes). The material provides very solid clamping with no squishing/yielding over time and the engine goes back in the same position every time.

There are 4 configurations:
  • 260 "Standard"
  • 320 "Standard"
  • 260 “Double Drop”
  • 320 “Double Drop”

Standard Mounts - 260 and 320 Versions:
  • Compatible with the popular aluminum "standard" mounts on the market
  • 260 and 320 versions directly interchange while maintaining the same collet position for easy 260-320 swaps.
  • 5.25" isolator center distance (same as other standard mounts)

Double Drop Mounts - 260 and 320 Versions:
  • Intended for monos (also good for some hydros with belly pans like gas scales)
  • Both the front and rear mount have drop built in (3/4" front, 7/16" rear). Unlike conventional drop mounts where only the rear mount has drop.
  • Allows the front of the engine to be lowered while still having the isolators positioned for clear fastener access (see pics)
  • With the isolators positioned level the engine angle is 6 degrees. This gives minimum driveline curve (and friction) and a lower CG
  • 260 and 320 versions directly interchange while maintaining the same collet position for easy 260-320 swaps.
  • 6.25" isolator center distance allowing easy wrench access to isolator nuts even with 320 engines and EZ starter. Starters can be clocked to either side.
  • Works well with No Bar (see last picture)
Pricing:

Since many people have isolators already and/or preferred throttle linkage the mounts are currently being sold as a basic kit with engine hardware, with the option to add isolators and throttle linkage if desired.
  • Standard Mounts (260 or 320): $48 with hardare (as shown in first photo)
  • Double Drop (260 or 320): $50 with hardware as shown
  • Isolator kits are available for $14 with the purchase of mounts. These are high quality, medium hardness, US made isolators. I have both male-female and male-male isolators as options.
  • Speedmaster throttle linkage kits are available for $15 with the purchase of mounts.
