Is this radio new or old, what frequency is it on and is it AM or modified for FM signals??

Of course, what would be your selling price?

Thanks,

Rey G

Grim, I may be interested in the radio and components, give me a couple of days and I will get back with ya..

I only use stick radios and i have an original Airtronics/Sanwa EXXES radio 3 channel that needs replacing.

as for the frequencies, 3 and 4 are AM freqs and I can have them modified and changed to Fm freqs, by sending them to Bobby Tom at Airtronics.

Ill get back to ya!

Rey G.

Ray there is no such thing as an AM frequency. You can use AM or FM on any frequency, that is simply the method of modulation. As far as the Super Exzes it is FM on both 27 MHz and 75 MHz you just change the RF module to change bands. I use mine on both and love the Airtronics 27 MHz synthesized TX module and recievers you can get to go with the Super Exzes.

Eric,

I gave the wrong impression, in the am freqs , 2,3,4,5 these are not relative good freqs to use in so calif.. the AM signal is weak and noisy and background interference is prevalent in some spots. Here in So cal. most of the kids toys use surface AM freqs like 2,3,4,5 and they are everywhere...greater odds of getting hit in those ranges than on FM 70's, 80's, 90's...

On FM, I use freqs in the "odd" 70's like 71, 73,77,79 , this is what I meant by switching to FM freqs..

I wasnt talking about the modulation.

Hmm I use my Super Exzes on 27 MHz every time I visit both Legg Lake, and San Diego. I think that Cathie Gailbraith uses ch 4 down there too. Any way to go to 75 MHz all you need to do is purchase the 75 MHz TX module 93375 no need to send the radio in. Check with Bobby and see if the new 93675 is available yet that one is sythesized so no crystals to buy. I have the 27 MHz Sythesized module but last I knew the 75 MHz one was not in country yet.

Hay Shark you got a phone # for this Bobby Tom got a Airtronics radio need to get it looked at

thanks Marty

I run a Super Exzes and the Novak Switch module for the M8 works just fine. It's a great radio.

Eric,

cathie hasnt raced in district 19 in over 5 years. As for 75 megs, you have to be "in the know" to get the best stuff in the market.

Here we watch boats hit the beach on 2,3,4,5 all year long, its all a matter of odds. The closer we get to places where there are rc cars the greater risk of getting interference.

Lets not take this thread too far off topic....

Eric,

Not sure what the "in the know” refers to but, you are now "in the know" the part numbers I gave you will get you on 75 MHz with the Super Exzes. I use the Airtronics Synthesized module on 27 MHz their 75 MHz module was not available last time I attempted to get one so I use the crystal controlled one on 75 MHz. I know that NOVAK makes a synthesized module that works in the radio but they also had some problems with the early modules (I understand they have those problems worked out now) that shipped so I would stay with the Airtronics one especially if you can get one of the Airtronics 75 MHz synthesized units. Whichever way you go you do not need to send the radio in. If you never change channels then there is no advantage to the Synthesized modules they simply let you change channels with just a switch change and no need to have a bunch of crystals on hand. Another nice thing about the Super Exzes on 75 MHz is the ability to use it with the Airtronics dual conversion receiver 92875Z. I find that while the tiny single conversion they ship with is a great little reciever for any nitro boat in Spark Ignition boats the dual conversion while a little larger is bullet proof to interference.
