Hello everyone, this is chris.I am buying a Aeromarine Sprint Cat soon and had a question.I am looking into buying the 36" sprint cat and putting in a K&B .67 for the time being but want to move up to a larger engine. My question is in the future If I wanted to use a .90 size engine in that length of hull would it be to much power for a 36" boat.I know I have seen gas guys running those huge engines in the 36" sprint cat so I would think I could use a .90 nitro engine.Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Christopher, I ran the same hull for many years with a .65 in it and had a blast! I also tried running it for awhile with a .90 and although it was fun running by myself it was WAY overpowered and wasn't very good for racing. Infact is was kinda overpowered with the .65 and I had to be careful at times. If you are going to race I would suggest the 36" boat for the .65 and the next bigger (43"?) for the .90.

get the 90 size sprint cat and it will run well with the 67, once you make the change to the 90 size motor you will absolutly love that boat. the 42" hull just handles rough water so much better. i race a 36" sprint cat with a modified 67 cmb and its plenty fast but has some issues with race condition water, i run this boat in open hyd namba against big gas hulls, my next boat will be a 90 size sprint cat with a cmb 90
