Zipp Mfg.[Zippkits] and Geraghty Perfomance RC will be sponsoring a new challenge for the 2011 Hobart Masters event.

This challenge will be called the "size matters" outrigger hydro challenge....

There will be no entry fee for entering this challenge and the very simple rules for this event are attached below.

Just register for the challenge prior to the start of the heat racing.

The winners of this challenge will receive the "size matters" Perpetual trophy as well as a $150.00 gift certificate from Zipp Mfg.

As we speak, the perpetual "size matters" outrigger hydro trophy is currently being designed and manufactured for the 2011 event by W.S. Racing Products.

The yearly winners name or names will be engraved on the front of this trophy to be carried into history.

As an additional incentive for everybody to enter this challenge, there will be [a yet to be determined] prize for the last place team.

This will not be a gag prize but a honest to goodness prize with value.

In case of a tie for last place points there will a run-off with the .12size A hydros to determine the winner or winners of the last place prize

and their names just may be added to the perpetual trophy for their last place accomplishment.

P.S.All you boaters from Oz that plan to attend next year start building your .12 boats right now and enter the challenge....

The .12 boats will fit in your carry-on luggage with no problem..... :p ... ;)

There has been a question that if the "Size Matters Hydro Challenge" was being offered with the blessing of Stu Barr........

Before I even mentioned it on IW I talked to Stu and he gave his blessing to this endeavor.....

Both Stu and myself are very interested in promoting Nitro R/C boat racing and get people building again and not just buying......

When the JAE effort was launched, the .12size [A-hydro} seemed the logical place to start for several reasons....

1.There just has to be about a zillion .12 motors out there not being used because the cars they were in were rendered obsolete.

2.The boats had to be inexpensive and simple to build and set-up to encourage new R/C boaters to download the free plans or take a $49.00 flyer [Zippkits] and try to join the hobby.

3.The boats had to be affordable and easy to run.It was imperative that the boat didn't need a big wallet and 20 years of nitro hydro experience to be competitive.

I believe the JAE team and Zippkits by in large have accomplished these goals......In fact the JAE affordable simple design has progressed beyond our wildest dreams.

We have had feedback from several veteran racers telling us how much fun these boats will dispense ......4OZ. of fuel at a time.[Mike Schindler,Bob Morton,Bob Bonahoom,David Preusse,David Hall and Ron Zaker just to name a few.]

What is even more satisfying the little .12 boats will flat run some very respectable speeds on some pretty nasty water.

The Hobart Hydro Masters "Size Matters Challenge" is just an extension of this effort to encourage affordable R/C boat building and racing and

try to help make the Hobart Hydro Masters the premier event that it is.

The Perpetual trophy for the "Size Matters" Challenge is finished and will have the names of the challenge winners [and biggest losers :p ] engraved on it for all to see.The trophy is 14" X14" X 13" high.

The trophy was built by Mike Crawford of Woodstuff tunnels and I am here to tell you it is a very nice piece.Kudos to Mike.He out did himself in this effort.

The trophy will remain and be displayed in Hobart with the boat given the city .The challenge winners will be given individual plaques and the winners [and losers :) ] and the prize chest continues to grow.

There is no entry cost for this challenge, just sign up prior to start of the competition.

We will see you in Hobart.
