On an A-Mono SpeedMaster (.21) using an adjustable stinger. Should I follow the norm as in most mono's -

The drive dog in front of the leading edge of the rudder ?

The one I have puts me with the drive dog behind the trailing edge of the rudder blade, correct me if Im wrong , but I dont think its right.......

If Im long, whats the best way -shy of a ban saw, to cut down that strut ??

I have mine setup with the end of my stinger/strut at 3" from the transom and the trailing edge of my rudder blade at 2 3/4" from transom. It works for me just fine.

I looked at both Otto's boats when I was there today and they are the same way I do the Duecers- just wanting to make sure........

I corrected the original post Allen, its a stinger(not a strut) and has 4 tabs- I KNOW the tabs are right- and my mind tells me the Stinger needs to end BEFORE the leading edge of the rudder/ and yes - it already has the right rudder on it. My question is , what would be the advantage of the stinger(drive doge leading edge) behind the rudder trailing edge ?

With that said , how would it / or would it - change prop selection ??

Yes it is 1/4" behind the trailing edge of the rudder. I am running an older Rossi Revo marine with an Original 3280 pipe and an x440 prop on a custom made stinger. Runs very well for something I pieced together from spare parts and a donated hull.I have less than 100.00 into it. We are trying to get more interest again in the mono classes here in the NW so I decided to put one together and this is what I came up with.
