To say his Scale skills - and my lack of them- is starting to rub off (a little little bit) is AWESOME- The Hawk was only the first step Bill-

Once the Bomark is done, it's time to knock the dust off the Mark & Pak off and get serious

I'm lucky to get a second chance doing it with him Bill, trust me- I feel it. We talked about AMA Nat's next year and Greg's Irwin Cup race in one road trip next year.

Yep.. me too.. lost my brother a number of years ago and its not an easy deal.

I would give my left nut to do a road trip with my brother to a "hobby anything"

Great looking ship your bro has there and Andy.. your skills are really getting good too.

NICE!!! enjoy the time while you got it!! I have no brothers but my dad was huge into airplanes and r/c boats.. as a kid we went everywhere from our local meets all the way to Byron's "STRIKING BACK" in Iowa to alabama for the big float fly and all places in between.. miss him and wish i could have spent time with him flying rather than chasing the girls around the fun flys...(even tho that was lots of fun)I am getting my kids into the hobbies now as dads last words were"Son,go fly..." then he passed. now I try to carry his last words out and even found this great club close to me for racing boats..(none around this area in the 70s and early 80s) now I look to IW guys as big brothers for hints and tips and RCUniverse as well... a wealth of knowledge...thanks!!! we were recently in FLA. Sarasota area and missed "Jets over Florida"... :( next time I wint to see fantasy of flight museum...

Rick, you should get down here for TopGun one year- AWESOME event.

And Foley is right- those big gas motors nearly sound like one- such a sweet sound- esp the fast flybys ;)

You really really have to see it in person to truely appreciate the man hours and detail work , It's amazing and he can fly the snot out of it- well most anything he flies- but he flies this bird VERY scale, makes it look nearly like a real one in flight.

Speaking of big engines... my latest is a Hanger 9 EXTRA 260...111cc twin.. 108" wingspan...add to a 55cc extra 330 from gold wing models and a COX PITTS M-12 with a 3-W 70cc in it...I like them big!! have always wanted to go to TOP GUN... see it in the magazines...looks sweet.. went to the "RALLY OF THE GIANTS" This year (2012) it was a blast!!My dad was a detail freak, has several planes hanging in CURTIS MUSEUM in Hammondsport N.Y. and a DH-2 that won best of show at WRAMS and Toledo shows... was also in RCM magazine years ago. quite an honor!! Dad was an IMAA life member and lived by the saying "bigger is better"

Those are some VERY strong accomplishments by your father- I'm sure your proud, I would be B)

Your flying some HUGE stuff yourself - I cant remember the names of the 2 brothers that flew 3-D down here one year @ Top Gun ??

But watching what they could do with those giant airplanes was unreal- at the time those 2 where like the bad boys of 3-D. Plus the GINORMOUS Bob Violet - Jet tent city

I am proud of Dad.. We built my first boat,a Dumas Pay n Pak back in like 78 or so... Had a fox .21 with a kool klamp on it.. got it to run pretty good, then he bought one too and a B/N K&B .21 Marine engine..he was going to beat me up with it...LOL.. I had a 72 Chevelle at the time doing restoration on it and dad never finished it.. as a teen I got interested in girls... and other shady things... we drifted apart,I got a kid and a half then got married, finished having kid #2..lol we had a couple more kids (boy,girl,girl,boy..)before we figured out how to stop that from happening again..lol.. I finally had it out with dad and we started getting along again... He also belonged to a put-put boat club, but his buddies didnt like my loud, smokey wave makers.. they would pull their boats out when I threw the SKI-VEE with a .45outboard or the new Pay N Pak in and stand there and scowl while i played... dad just chuckled and went about his business..lol.. so I was outlawed and ran boats by myself for a few years before I got bored of being the only one playing.. then he got sick and didnt do much flying or boating in his last few years... still built some beautiful stuff tho!! I kept a slipper launch and finished the decking (mahogany) and the radio etc... and it came out sweet!! I also have a fishing boat to finish he started and a PT-109

photo checkmate.JPGI sold 3 planes, 2 micro umx planes all of my Spectrum stuff and misc stuff at our club auction and got an AEROWORKS Checkmate, new DLE55 servos and custom pitts muffler from J-Tec.. Here she is!!! cant wait for servos to come in to go fly her!!! we had a work party at Stony Pond Boat Club pond today to set up fence and put in bouys, also got to play for a bit.. ran the Bullitt for 4 or 5 runs!! felt good..Brand new X-Force from joe with 8 runs on it... starting to run strong!!

boat from china must have gotten lost...12 days still no servos yet... want to get this plane outside...well its raining soooooo...... usually boats come out after planes cause field is ready and ponds frozen..... been out with boats several times and waiting on stuff for planes from HOBBY KING still...........
