Hi all. Just wondering what setups are around for a 6S outboard i.e. leg, motor, esc, hull? Thinking about adding one to the fleet

Thanks

Talk to Kris F, he has it dialed in. My suggestion is a 45 Vision with a Neu 1521-1Y/1600kv or find a Castle 1520/1600kv. We have run the T-180's and they seem to hold up well. I prefer the 45 K&B foot as it is stiffer than a Lawless. M445 - 545 prop and your easily into high 50mph range.

There's a topic on 6S tunnels here. The old Leecraft xt-460 was at least as fast as any mod nitro Leecraft. The power plant was designed to be a replacement for nitro motors and turned out to be a little too good. It was about right in a sport 40. I'm only aware of one race event the boat attended. Brian Buaas ran one in a demonstration race at the Model Mariner's Grand Prix. It was capable of close to 60 mph at the end of the straight. You need to be aware of the high torque an electric motor can develop. We found that the prop needed to be shallower than a nitro powered boat to prevent sponson burying. These days I would go with a larger hull and inrunner motor. The Turnigy 180 is still a good low cost ESC.
