I built a 45 Rigger and I think Its big enough for a 67. Here are some specs. This boat will be for heat racing.

Length 36"

Tub inside width 3 1/2"

Front Sponson width 1 1/2"

Rear ski width 3/4". There's one on each side of the rear.

I'm a rigger newb so any help would be appreciated. I plan on making new front sponsons so if I need to widen the front sponson I can.

Thanks Samuel

I would still plan on it being a 45. There is plenty of chop from a bunch of 45 boats but when you go up to the 67's the chop, from the bigger engines and props, you may get swamped and frequently. A 36" tub is too small for a 67 boat IMHO. More suited for a 45.

My home made 45 rigger's tub is also 36". ^_^

Try to keep it light.

Samuel Welcome to a completely new world ;) ....my SGX 45 is equipped with a .84 Mac and runs on a dime so don't worry. However if you inttend to compete stick to the 45 and learn how to deal with this kind of boat.No matter what model it is based i.e. Jae,SGX,Crapshooter or any other take your time and ask for advise whenever you need..here is the best place to get well started. Will do. May take a while. If I new how to add picture with my smart phone it be easier for me.

When I install the motor mount should I keep it as low as possible. The motor will be a NR DD or a A/A. I haven't decided yet.

I'll get some pictures up this weekend.

I have a engine mount question. Should I put it as low as possible and also how far back from the CG should it be.

Hi Samuel,

My guess on engine placement would be as far forward as possible... however with all running gear on(rudder strut, turn fin etc.) find the best placement for good balance without adding weight.. do you know where the c/g is located??
