I've asked before. Can't find the thread. Can you guys give me prop recommendation for 45 rigger.

Ski style, AA 45, 66 percent nitro.

I need like a range of 3. Low side being super easy to launch and maybe a slower rough water prop, midrange and then a stretch on the top end, requiring a big launch and top end. The most prop being used only after the boat is well set up and stable.

MS recommended 1665. Should I just get 3 of those at varied pitch? Or maybe 1650 and a 1655?

1460, 1462 reduced, 1655 pitched up, 1657 reduced, H-18 pitched up and H-22 reduced for starters. A 1457 heavily pitched up could work depending on the strength of the engine. A very strong engine may overpower a 1457. Pick your poison.

I'm working with a 1457 based on advice from David Pruesse for the CMB 45 engine on that boat.

Any reason why an X series prop would not be good for a skied 45 rigger?

X's series don't have too much lift for a rigger but they can work on some models. 1460 cup 4,1 1655 cup 4,3 or a stock 1657 are my favorites props for 45 rigger. Gill

I run a 1655 pitched up and a 1657 pitched up to 4.85 with a CMB RS and Roadrunner boat

Anthony... bypass the 1457's completely... Start on 1460's ( 68, my best), backcut and tongues... I'm currently on a 1462 pair to try and had even better visually with 1657's... the boat'll follow the current ski boat theories and will pull hell out of bigger props... first, best and one off guess.... 1657... mine's back together, and my hands were too numb, to get it outta the truck... test 'em up.. Mike

Anthony.. Mark is producing a very nice 1657, per 'Butch' Jae build here... this is up to you... my testing with your boat has shown the most promise on the 1657 series to date... I'm currently attempting different cup numbers, and back cut depths and lengths... ( If, i can keep a driveline in it), a bag 1657 should give you a good testing platform to search around.... all 3 of us have different engine/pipes, and well... I'll season mine to taste... waiting for sunday.... Mike
