I use 0-80 machine screws as "non-slip" pins in the rear carbon boom. They go thru the brass and carbon. 1/8 toe in fin side.

Another possible option to keep the rods from slipping in the brass is to drill a pair of 1/16" (or appropriate diameter) holes through the brass and carbon on the inside of the the tub and use some 1/10 car body clips through the brass and carbon. That way if you need to replace the booms you can pull them out easily.

Ran the boat again yesterday with good results. Had a HOF come through to give me a hand with it. This new K motor is a nice running piece, piston fit is superb.

After more than a gallon of fuel through it this week, I pulled the engine down this afternoon to see how things were holding up.



+85mph with a stock ZippKits and an unmodified K-45 engine…life is good.

Yes. Two, it was lean AF when it happened! I was abusing it finding the end of the needle.

Looks good on the water, I wonder if the 2317 will make it
even better? The roostertail looked kinda choppy in one of
the videos, so I wonder if a little more blade length would
help that prop wash flutter? You may need to round the tips
a touch. Definitely competitive right out of the gate.
