3rd channel needle valves for .12 engines

Hey guys,

I want to put a 3rd channel needle setup on my .12 hydro and I was wondering if someone could recommend a good one to use. I have a couple Bob Violette needles around as well as an old non needle type valve that I got from aeromarine a few years back. The aeromarine one was too fine for my .21 so i thought it might be suitable for the .12.

Any suggestions?

don ferrette needle base for the small motors and a os in-flight needle.. that is the only way i rock ..jmo

I hope you are building a JAE-12, they are AMAZING LITTLE BOATS!!!

I believe we will be racing these boats in the : 12,21,45,67,101 sizes

by next year or sooner.

LOL Wow Im even getting it from the new guy!! :lol: Hey wheres your .12 hydro anyay!! Both my hydros will be at the next race in Sept. By the way, you should come testing with us before then. We usually hit Lilly pond in Gilford the weekend before.

As for the needle valves, thanks for the info Terminator. I think I'll probably end up with the OS needle setup eventually but for the time being I'm gonna give the Aeromarine and bob violet needles a shot.

So I ended up getting the OS in flight needle setup. With the finer needle, anyone know how many turns out I should start at?

It will depend on what carb you are running.

I am running almost as much fuel through my 12 carb as my 21 carb.

They flow 4.1 to 4.2 on my flow meter.

FYI, we have found these little 12 motors love fuel.

The bigger the carb the more power they are making.

We run a .280" bore carb and it runs great,65 mph for a 12 hydro

on a 1440 B/C w/3.10" of cup @ 37.50mm is pretty STOUT.
