So is it worth stuffing a third servo in a 21 rigger for the needle or not? Finally getting time to work on my new blackbird and wondering if adding the third channel is worth it. Going with a Ferrette needlebase anyway. What do ya'll think?

Its a good thing If you can discipline yourself not to lean it out toooo much. That seems to be be the problem no matter what boat you have B)

Kevin you have to run a remote needle on a 21 or any other boat for that matter.

After running with a remote needle you will never go back.. It cuts testing time in half. It's true through.. It's hard to know when to stop leaning.

Once you get it set up,.. it's the best ..

My boat probably wouldn't launch at the lean setting I run at...

Tony,

You want to run as rich as you can, burning the most

Nitro that you can to make the most power available.

When you lean the mixture you are starving the motor

of lubrication and then you wear out your piston and

Sleeve fit prematurely.

Conditions change as the day goes by. The third channel control is a great asset, whether you are launching rich and then leaning to get the right needle or to react to warmer or cooler weather.

I launch blubbery rich,.. then lean the needle to get the motor to clear out...

I launch it rich and after a warm up lap I'll run about 1/2 throttle and then floor it noticing how quick it gets on the pipe. When there is no hesitation I leave it there.
