I am starting a new build and was looking for some input on strut choices. I like the CMDI no walk small strut but can not seam to get any response form them or contact on the phone.

The last build used a Speed master sport 20 strut and cut the blade down. Would still like a smaller strut flat on the bottom and extended.

If I can find a small strut with ceramic radial bearings might try a wire drive.

David, This is the strut that I make for the JAE's, I can make it to use the bearings of your choice with flat bottom or round. I will custom make anything you need,

I strongly prefer either the Speedmaster mini strut and rudder or the CMDI small strut for any 21 rigger. Any rigger needs, IMO, to have a strut to be adjustable. It is a critical part to properly set the boat to run right.

I would also recommend the speedmaster strut that is used for the 20 size boats.Like john said you need ro adjust this area and IMHO shimming the strut bracket for pos and neg is not the best way...

Yes the adjustment is a critical part of tuning a hydro. Especially when it is a untested design.

Ross let me look threw the bins at the shop at speed master. But didn't really see what I wanted. Showed Harry a CMD strut witch is smaller than there strut and wondered if this is some thing thy would make in the future. But he dose not want to step on any ones toes.

Just wish the CMD strut was not made of unitaneium.

The last one I was able to get was larger than the smallest one thy make. Ended up using it on my 40 mono.

It seams that the extended strut works like the stinger setup for the mono. Gives a better flow to the prop and dose not interrupt the vortex around the prop.

I think it also puts the prop where you want it farther away from the rear sponson with out making a long strut mount.

Jim I would be interested in a .12 JAE strut..

Would you email me a quote to

[email protected]

I would want it to be set up for 3/16" shaft use.

Beautiful Workmanship.

Thanks
