Last I knew they were going for just over $300.00 Carl may chime in soon but I hope he is laying up boats instead of hanging around in here. They are marketed to racers that want the best . You wont see any threads on why a Lynx bounces or why it spins out in the corners... like you will with $100.00 boats that are primarily mass marketed to the hobbyist. I'm not knocking the $100.00 boats they are great for what they are intended but you get what you pay for and if you want a race boat right out of the box a Lynx is a great choice.

Who makes the 21 Lynx? And a # please
Carl and his email is [email protected] you have to send him the money and wait. He takes a while to deliver but makes the best handling tunnels you will ever drive.

From info I was told last week, Carl has his backorders on boats down to about a month now. So the wait is not as long as it has been. The workmanship is impeccable.

Dang, thanks for the kind words guys!

I have a few boats on back order but I am starting to get somewhat caught up. Some may wonder why it's like this but in addition to filling customers request, we are always trying to find the next edge or understand what makes tunnel boats do what they do while also working on new designs as well.

Most people are understanding about leadtimes as I build all my boats from start to finish myself.

One of the latest designs here at Van's is the new 3.5cc SPLITZER-250. The Splitzer is not a heat racing model but is a highly specialized straight line design (SAW). This model may be offered in wooden kit to help promote straight line competition in the future.

It is respectable to see someone put this dedication on building all the boats from start to finish... keep it up... perhaps in the future I will try to get one of your boats...

Stand by guys, I am about to post pics of my latest from Vans Racing.

A Shaman hull fitted with 3.5 Nova Rossi, this thing just may be the answer for all those of us that live in areas where we experience nasty weather/water.

You Ozzies,

downunder they do everything upside down B) B) B)

On the Nemesis , a 3.5 boat , they put a 7.5 and now on the Shaman a 7,5 boat, a 3.5 engine.

Mark, I cant wait to know how it runs.

Ronald.

It runs very fast, I think its maybe 3-5MPH slower than the Lynx/Nova combination in very good conditions.

Take away the "very good" conditions, it's 3-7MPH faster than the Lynx.

MJ

Hey Jerry, I think sending money order is a good idea, as they say, money talks bu11sh1t walks!

I'd say take away the "very good conditions" and it's 50+mph faster at the end of the race than the boat that's dead in the water!

Heat racing is all about finishing races. MJ's Nova has no shortage of horsepower (in fact it has serious amounts of it!) and can push the Shaman without too much trouble at all - the biggest difference is he can keep the throttle open more than he could with the lynx and the same engine, without the fear of it getting a DNF.

Hey Jerry, when you get the boat, let me know and we can discuss setup details, although, I think Your "Bride of Frankenstein" may have few more ponies than my N/Rossi.

It's a Big Unknown MJ, all I have to go on is the guy's on the Car websites. They say it has

a bunch of torque and a listed rpm of 28,000 ,, O.S. listed engine specs are generally accurate

as well as conservative.

I'd do like TimD said and put it on the Lynx but it only me 6 months to find the correct set-up

with the TT/Lynx  ( Note that TS2 owners)

I do have a brand new HTB290, maybe it would work on that for now,,hmmm <_<

Hey Guys,,,

I built a Shaman for Mark (Props4U) to put a 3.5cc modified engine on a good while back. He has had the boat since before the Flint time trials. As a matter of fact he was supposed to take the boat to the Flint time trials. I am sure he can offer somebody some setup tips for the 3.5cc/Shaman setup by now.

Maybe one of you guys can get him to tell you something about what he has learned from it. I haven't heard anything from him in a while.
