The Voodoo Model Boat Club proudly presents the IMPBA 2018 Gas Nationals in memoriam of Mike Cantavespri held in Reserve, Louisiana on May 3rd thru 5th 2018. Voodoo Model Boat Club will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2018 with hosting the IMPBA Gas Nationals for an unprecedented 4th time of this prestigious R/C Boating competition. You are surely going to want to reserve those racing calendar dates for this one… THE GRAND DADDY of all R/C Gas Boat Racing events of the year. Plan to come down and enjoy some of the best Southern Hospitality “NAWLIN’S” has to offer and of course our cuisine speaks for itself! The Voodoo Race facility has plenty of pit space and parking for large trailers and motor homes with fresh water hookup available. A food vendor will be onsite for lunch each day of the race offering a full menu. The Friday night race banquet that’s included with each contestant entry and extra banquet tickets available for $10 per person will offer a feast of some Louisiana style cuisine and will also be awarding the 2018 Johnny Ber Award, Classic Thunderboat Concourse Award, and handing out all raffle items. The Gas Nationals will follow all rules and regulations per the IMPBA rule book offering all LSG classes, LSG Specialty classes, as well as LSG O/B Tunnel. This event will have a 275 boat entry limit and will be limited to only 8 classes per driver. Driver meetings held each day at 7:00am with heat racing starting immediately after. If required, a break in racing due to morning sun glare on the course will be implemented for safety concerns. Shoot out heat racing format will be used with only the first round predetermined by computer. Only the top 6 boats of each class will compete in the 5th round with cumulative points for all 5 rounds of racing to determine a national champion for each class. Awards will be given for 1st thru 3rd place. Any previous 2017 IMPBA National Champions are guaranteed entry to defend their championship regardless of total boat entries.
We will have a zero tolerance policy for arguing with calls made by the CD or with other competitors anywhere in pit area. Violators will immediately receive a DQ for that heat. Repeat offenders will be suspended from any further racing. All first, second and third place stock motors will be inspected

Open Water: Tuesday, May 1st and Wednesday, May 2nd
Racing will be Thursday May 3rd through Saturday May 5th with Sunday May 6th being available if needed for any inclement weather.

Looks like we are going to have a good showing for LSG Outboard Tunnels at this race. I am looking forward to competing with these guys who have well seasoned setups. The VooDoo guys are all about racing some fast gas boats and eating some killer Cajun food... It should be a blast!

Guys I cannot stress this enough to get your entry paid up or it will be cancelled on Feb. 1st. The waiting list entries will be moved into the race and you will be required to go back and try and get in on the waiting list. Lets not make an example out of anyone with all the hard work it took back on Dec. 2nd to get into this major event as quick as it sold out.
