Racers & Fans,

In case you have not heard District 20 has been awarded the 2013 NAMBA Nationals which will be held in the GREAT state of UTAH!! Since my club the Decker Dunkers was formed 2 years ago it has been a dream of ours to host the Nationals so needless to say we are bursting with excitement.

We are already hard at work, planning away to ensure the high standards from year past are up held and this NEW location will be enjoyed by all. I wanted to start this thread to keep you all posted on the happenings and any news worth information I can share with you.

Again on behalf of District 20 and the Decker Dunkers we look forward to meeting many new people, making new friends, and showing off our GREAT state to the RC Boating World!

Happy Boating!

Karl

Congratulations. I am excited for you as I see you filled with enthusiasm. It is this type of enthusiasm I applaud and encourage. Hopefully I will be able to make it in 2013. Best Wishes.

Location is West Valley City, Utah. It's about 6-8 miles south of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah.

The host hotel will be 3/4's of mile from the race site. It has an indoor swim park for those of you traveling with kids. About 10-12 restaurants within a 3 mile radius of the race site.

Dates are July 6-13, 2013

Robert Holland and Karl Loveless are the co-Contest Directors with much help from the entire NAMBA District 20 crew.

Anymore questions out there???????

Robert

Can we sign up yet? :D

I plan on being there so let me know what I can do to help.

Kelly.

You know that I will be there.

It is a good site with lots of room for canopies and tables. There are several motels and restaurants in the immediate area. Plus there are lots of tourist locations to visit and of course the Rocky Mountains. And,if you have a free day or two, Las Vegas is not too far.

Since Colorado has a good group of electric racers and you're reasonably close to electric groups in California and the Pacific Northwest, can we finally have a combined nitro, gas, and electric nationals? I believe exposure to all types of racing will benefit everyone. I'm sure there's enough room for the popular classes in all groups. Look at class sizes in past nitro/gas nationals and the recent 2012 Electric Nationals for what is popular now.

I attended a race at this pond in Utah, very nice. Anybody that owns a RV or camper trailer there is a KOA Campground about 5 minutes away from the pond. We stayed there it was very nice so If anybody owns or wants to bring there RV and not stay in a hotel this is a great option as well.

Beau can you tell me the name of the KOA you stayed at so I can add it to the list of options for racers? Thanks Buddy

Karl,

Here is some info on the KOA Campground in Utah,

1400 West North Temple

Salt Lake City, UT 84116

Thanks Beau

We plan on offering 4 electric classes. Not sure what they will be just yet. The NAMBA Electric Nationals are about a month before and will be in Northern California. That should be a great race.

Are electric classes will be based on the most popular that we run in District 20.

Hope to see you there Lohring.

Kelly, You can send me money right now if you want and we will list you as entrant #1. B) B) B)

What is the Temp in Utah when the racing will be on Al will not put an A/C in the Trailer and do not want to sweat like a pig if i come over where do you fly into from LAX.

Is Dave going to go ifso count me out HaHa.

Sounds good might have to pencil this one in how many do you expect.

Steve

Steve,

You fly right into Salt Lake City from Los Angeles. I will get you A/C if you come over. I don't like seeing sweat like a pig. WE expect 400-450 boats.

David is in no matter what since I am the Contest Director. I need the best Pitman possible wrenching on my stuff. I will provide the first two cases of Corona's. After that you and David are on your own.

Count me in i like the look of the mountains.

I will be in Vegas in 4 weeks for work tell Dave to come down and have a Beer.

Even though this race is some time out, looks like it will be some extreme racing and definitely good old fashion fun. Already making plans to be there next year for sure.
