The eighth annual NW Scale Championship Race is in the books - I think most would agree that this was one of the best races yet. We had just under 70 scale hydroplanes racing in three classes. For those of you that like to plan ahead please mark your calendar for October 6th and 7th, 2012 for the ninth annual NW Scale Champ race.

Winners of this years event:

1/8 Nitro Scale - Kerry Case

1/7th Electric Scale Modern Class - Jeff Campbell

1/7th Electric Scale Vintage Class - Mark Manchester

Gas Hydro - Jerry Dunlap

Best of Show - Bob Hulliger with the 1999 Miss E-Lam Plus "Gas Scale Hydro"

over in the race results section there are some pics and videos.....I'll add them to this post...

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cudos to Al for stopping the final after the blowover on the front straight. I agree that there was no reason to make the last running boat finish another lap though I probably would have had the winner bring the boat in across the infield.

Thanks for posting the pics and video's Rob. Even though my Bud got speared I enjoyed the event and look forward to next year.

Yes thank you very much, I hated to be the spear John. I had a great time both days and really appreciate everyone that came out to participate in all classes and thanks to all that came by just to watch some good racing. Can't wait to do it all again next year, I sure would like to see more of the rcu guys show up next year.

Another great race sponsored by Marty. Al Waters does a terrific job as race director and announcer. Sure glad I bought the Classic Thunderboat from Jim Johnson at the NAMBA Nats last June. That is one fun boat to race. :D Just not sure how to take folks saying, "Did you hear, JD's got gas."
