Can a 2-blade prop ever work good for a mono that is oval raced? I have some that I could try, but I don't want to waste time either.

Thanks.

I'm running a 2 blade Prather(Stainless steel)230 prop on my Aeromarine Hull .45 Picco. Running it in a "D" Open class and doing well against a Tunnel & Rigger. Took 2 - 1st places & a 2nd last weekend..

I'm sorry, I want to make a correction. You must be talking about a Surface Drive. I only run Sub-surface & just on the edge of: Out of Control.. Seriously though, trying different props won't hurt either.. Never a waste of time trying something just a little bit different, that might make your Hull a winner in the future. :D

I run an ABC 2614/3 Chopper and a 2614/2 blade on my

CMB 90 powered Insane Mono.

Both work great.

I think so. I put together a Microburst hull with a 45 Mac for a friend and it runs very well with a P-230 at 4300 ft. I'm sure your closer to sea leavel so something a bit larger should do.

I run 2 blades on my X-Mono and on my subsurface drive 40 Mono- both Seaducers-

Some of the choppers I tried have shown some impressive results on the 40 boat,

but I cant seem to get anyone to part with one.

I have tried P230 and P235 also X455 and X457 on my Cal Craft 45RS combo. The eng revs good but the speed out of the corners is not there. Thy just don't have the bite. If you go to big on the two blade it loses speed in the corner and just spins it's prop coming out of the corners.

Have found great promise with cutting the tongue and bar cut of of the X455 and reducing the trailing edge pitch while adding tip cup.

Thanks for all the input! I tried a X455 two blade that I had on hand, but my O.S. 46 just couldn't spin it. I just ordered some other 3 and 2 blade props to try, so we'll see.

Sooner or later I will need to learn to modify props. I've just been too lazy... I need to organize all this advise for when I start.

if you are running OS46 in a mono? The base line choices would be a x450/2 blade or a x450/3. try running them stk to see the load on the engine before adding progressive pitch/cup to the blade.

I agree with Joe W. My son was running an OS/46 in his mono and he turns the X450/2 just fine. No particular load on the Engine after the motor was broken-in. Went to an X455/2 and there is no catching him now.

YES thats what i run on my b mono .21 and on my .45 twincraft mono

x series 2 blades are awesome with mild cups on them

and 3 blade x series props for larger scale

you will notice a higher torque with a nice two blade and good rpm

to big of a prop try a x 452 two blade x 455 is way to big of a prop thats for a .60 size engine i gaurantee you'll notice a torque change although you will get more speed out of a 3 blade you will be more efficent with a two blade not vise versa
