Thinking about building (yeah, another one) a .12-.15 mono over the winter.

I would like to build a wooden kit. Any suggestions on what to use. I'm looking at the wooden El Lobo hull. Any thoughts on that?

I've got one of Grimmie's wood Wild Thing .12's, a sweet boat but he sold them built only. Just about any wood kit or plans for a 12-cell and up mono ought to work plus it's easier to put in the motor rails if you build up a kit or plans.

I've got (2) shallow-v hull mono plans from the RCBM e-store that I bought last year.

Give me a couple of days to study the plans again. They are not "kits" but still would be a cool winter project...

I agree with Ron, if the hull will handle 12 cells then it will probably fly with small-block power. I would even go as far as saying that a good 8-cell hull might work.

Have you put a 05 can motor and a 6-cell pack on a scale latetly?

OK, OK. A wood El Lobo. It's a good electric racer and low profile so there would be no problem getting air to a heat sink head. you may have to build a radio box while you're at it.

Don't mean to be pushy Ron,... sorry

The El Lobo is rated at 6 cells. Do you guys think it would be big enough?

I was just messin' with ya! :D A hull made for a 12-cell setup might be a better way to go, more room for a fuel tank and the larger size makes them a lot easier to work on. I've had some small boats that were a shoehorn job to get everything in.

rumrunner has a boat on their site but I don't think it's actual availible. For tha matter I don't know that Rumrunner still exists after the weather in florida this year. I really wish I could call them but no number. They have a 25in boat that look perfect but you can't buy it......drag...

It even says it takes them weeks to answer emails.

Email Rum Runner Hobbies....he has always been good about emailing me back pretty quick when I had a question on something

Looks cool, do you have a top view?

I curious how the deck lines look with laid down free board at the bow.

Hey Anthony,

You know I was thinking about this and the Dumas DV21 might not be a bad choice. I built one for 12 cells and it was pretty fast. The only problem is it's a deep hull so water cooling would be a good idea.

Paul.
