Terry, If you take a inboard engine and convert to outboard the crank need to be change the inboard crank has no drive pin to drive the P.T.O !!!!!!! also they turn the opposite direction counter clockwise to clockwise!!!

Yes, it can be done the crank has to be changed out and the o.s base plate machined I have built several!!
