Blazer Slingshot with SG rear exhaust

Yeah I know: yours is more the circus circus scheme isn't it? Have you already driven it Rene? I wanted to have a boat that you can clearly see during a race, so hope this pink will do the trick. But got carried away and did some extr astuff as you could see. The boat is almost finished so I...

    CMB 28.5 Evo Help

Sorry not sure I understand your post: you say it still runs fine, but then there's a heap of issues you're reporting with the engine after you indicated it run hot and so hot it burned the electrode of the sparkplug: does it run fine and all is ok, or is there an issue and you need advice /...

That should be the normal routing: low in high out. Are you sure you have not mirrored or rotated the gaskets, or the head button? Most engines have the inlet just under the exhaust port before cooling the rest of the cilinder.

Work on the sponsons.. because of the sloped side wall it cries out for some decals... Well I I think reverse decals are also nices: just to be able to show the original wood grain. Wood is good.

Been working slowly, but steadily: Exhaust brace made of CF: took a pipe with the right diameter and made 2 flanges to act as a mold. And finally some semi-finished pictures: it's starting to look like something that will be able to run. Though I need to think about a paintscheme if the rest of...

Blazer Slingshot with SG rear exhaust

Suffering a bit of a mishap with the first cowl laminating attempt: wanting to do a nice and even white gelcoat I applied the epoxy too quick or did not add enough hardener and almost ruined the mold. Aceton came to the restcue cleaning the mess and attempt #2 underway. I did notice that the...

    Slingshot inspired twin rigger

I use about similar size sponsons: they are not a copy of the real slingshot sponsons, but like the whole boat inspired by, eg the sloped sides and curved back. Reason I use about same size is that I think the tub has enough buyoancy due the exra lenght and double radio box of which one will...

    Slingshot inspired twin rigger

Past several days have been working on sponsons. I should have ordered with the Slingshot kit a few pairs of extra sponsons, but couldn't know I got carried away. Anyhow the jigsaw has done it's work and I used many a blade.. Now I feel I'm employed in a sponson production line..

Good stuff: what I see in your picture is the primary coil is moved out to the max: I would turn it back to the middle position. Though I have no CMB Alpha I am the Dutch dealer of BZM, but also run SG and these have similar ignition systems. As a rule of thumb I advice my customers (but that is...

    CMB 28.5 Evo Help

I measure from exhaust port, so if you do like you do add about an inch.. Have you measured your ignition timing already? I can post a picture how the flywheel - ignition markings should look like with 1.5 mm before TDC measurement. Usually too short a pipe will only make the engine stall or...

    CMB 28.5 Evo Help

That indeed sounds like you have the rest set well: black sparkplug indicates it's not too lean, the pipelenght also sounds good, prop a bit on the large side but that shouldn't damage the sparkplug so much it burns. So I have to say that indeed timing would be the next thing to look at, though...

Blazer Slingshot with SG rear exhaust

And work for a new cowl.. Hard to replicate the nice lines of the slingshot cowl.. but then these are one of a kind so anything goes.. I sanded a block of 2k Foam and glued it to a plate of triplex, matching the curve of the tub... Initial form was't ok at all as you can see in first picture so...

Blazer Slingshot with SG rear exhaust

Now is the time I put a lot of effort and time in things, but you don't see so much result. anyhow want to share a trick on how to curve washers to fix the booms. And although I had never had any issues with fixing booms to the tub without a curved washer here's how I make a curved washer, that...

    CMB 28.5 Evo Help

Not sure what carb you have, length I would do minimum of 13; would even start at 13 1/2 and then start shortening Mauro always say boaters do 3 things wrong with his engines: Pipe too short, too lean and prop too large.. So prop might be another suspect You have any color on your plug or is...

Could also be a lean issue, or pipe too short. Usually if timing is off due to sheared pin it won't run at all...

It's a retrofit, so cut it to size to fit each compartment. For now only the bottom, but when everything has cured and the tub still flexes a lot I will also do the outer side walls for stability. Probably unidirectional carbonfiber. Currently the outside walls are only 3 mm wood ( about 1/8...
