cowling attachments on phil T5 scale

Heres how I did mine, theres just an aluminum rod thats epoxied into the nose of the hull, with two 1/4" round neodynamium magnets also epoxied into the hull on each side, flush with the surface. Then the cowling has the same two magnets, flanking an aluminum tube that slides over the rod thats...

Scale windshield placing and cutting, and detail

oh my gosh..... even "flush rivets" too?? haha, Im sort of a Howard Hughs/Scorcese/DiCaprio fan. Im such an impatient person for this hobby, I cant imagine doing something like that!!

    2014 U1 Graham Trucking

Dang, no wonder, the surface quality of his hulls looks amazing, very crisp and defined lines and edges, really like that.... I cant imagine how much sanding, labor, and constant checking and rechecking that saves you when it comes time to prep for primer and paint..... im staring at my CF hull...

    2014 U1 Graham Trucking

Friggin awesome! So you decided to scrap the plans for the LLumar ? Man does Doug vacuum bag his hulls?? and yeah the darn rotating pictures is starting to frustrate the heck out of me. Even more bizarre and annoying, the same thing happens on OSE!

Scale windshield placing and cutting, and detail

Lol actually the only one im not sure is the Formula and Bud pic, the 96 Joes is Dons as well, ive looked through his gallery for that particular build numerous times, and its funny too because I wasn't even a fan of that hull initially, I couldn't stand the box cowling at first and I was so...

    Velasco hulls and compatible boats?

Isn't a gentleman by the name Brian... Baus or someone of the likes (my apologies on the spelling sir) the individual who was producing them? Do you know if the 80 Atlas or Pak can be done with a Velasco hull?

Scale windshield placing and cutting, and detail

Hello, I was hoping to have some light shed on this subject, as im particularly picky about this portion of the build and to me, its EXTREMELY distracting to me when I feel like a scale boats windshield is not aesthetically correct or scale accurate (I suppose those two arent always synonymous)...

    Velasco hulls and compatible boats?

I just had a couple questions regarding a few hulls and how they relate/work with the Henry Velasco hulls I see alot. Could anyone provide a list of some sort of the boats that this hull makes generally, perhaps mostly in regards to potential cowling options? My apologies if this is rather a...

    Schumacher U-88/U-37

CORRECTION: Silly me, my last post was way off base, forgot I was going a little unorthodox with this builds shaft setup. The shaft log that I glassed in is in fact a 3/8" brass tube, as I will instead be using an 11/32" sized tube for my actual stuffing tube. This is because I wanted to give...

Oh I probably should have mentioned, I havn't actually installed the stuffing tube and shaft yet other than a test fit. Thats actually a 11/32" tube thats only about 3 inches at the most, its an anchor for the actual 5/16" tube that will run all the way to the strut. I was told by some to do it...

    Schumacher U-88/U-37

Got enough content for an actual update now, yay I also finished the reshaping of the port side non trip I discussed in the last post, im pretty happy with how it looks now, and overall the dropdown on the sponson from the front of the boat and all the way to the back looks alot more like the...

    New turn fin setup

Well, I feel like if we were to be 100% strictest in the rhetorical sense, we say "scale" as in its literally supposed to be the real boat "scaled down" to ....... in this case, 1/8th of the real thing. Now like you said, everyone is going to have a preference of how far in either direction...

    New turn fin setup

man something that happened today that is a perfect example of your last word there..... Ive had extra time off of work this week and ive been scrambling trying to get as much work done on the boat(s) as possible, while trying to simultaneously decide what may be best for a certain aspect of...

    New turn fin setup

Terry its great and refreshing to see that you have enough intellectuality to go with your experience in that you can be considerate enough of both sides. But I must say, OSE, imo, isn't a demographic that engages in the banter you describe. I feel as though it can become very easy over time...
