Bye Bye Karen. Don't let the door hit you in the azz on the way out.

Why does this forum shake down new members for money constantly??

A shake down?? Really? Do you think this forum runs on rainbows and unicorn farts? The site owners look for help to try to minimize resorting to selling advertising space (which they still need to do but you can opt out of seeing unlike other sites) and contrary to what you think is in fact...

Boats For Sale Humming Bird Rigger

It's actually not. Look closely, it appears to be a balsa pedestal with a ply piece on top to anchor the screws. I knew Jim Benns who built those boats and we did pipe mounts like that back then, light yet really strong. Better than attaching pipe mount to a radio box lid and losing the pipe and...

The ABC 2819/3s.... is that $120 for the pair and are they a matched set? If that's for both and they're matched I'll take them.

1/4 flex cable / stuffing tube issue

No you'll need the 5/16", there will be way too much cable whip running a 1/4" shaft in an 11/32" tube. Cut the 11/32" tube right after it leaves the bottom and about 1/8" past the tube support at the motor. The 5/16" will go thru the 11/32" tube will some lubrication. Here's an example from one...

1/4 flex cable / stuffing tube issue

Get rid of that teflon liner and add an oiler, oil up every run. You may find it a bit difficult to get that teflon out if it got hot enough to discolor the brass but it's gotta go. Cut the 11/32" right after it leaves the hull and use the remaining piece as a sleeve to push the 5/16" brass...

    Taps- who has good ones?

Typically I use cutting taps. I was told some time ago forming taps are not a good idea on small sizes like 2-56, 4-40, etc. because of the higher torque required to turn them vs. a cutting tap and the risk of breaking. Don't know if that's true as I never tried.

    Indy masters

I can't believe I've now missed this 2 years in a row but with getting absolutely hammered with medical bills in the beginning of this year really put a hurtin' on my hobby funds. Hopefully all the health stuff is now behind me and I can be there next year. Best of luck to all who are there.

    Taps- who has good ones?

So a few months back my 40+ year old 4-40 tap out of my MAC Tools tap and die set form back when I spun wrenches finally gave up the ghost. I have bought a couple since even going with McMaster-Carr but everything seems to be cheap Chinese junk. Anyone know of a source for high quality hopefully...

Boats For Sale custom built twin gas cat

Thanks for the info Dave but I'm running into the same situation, it'll cost almost as much to ship an empty box as a full one, when they get this big it's priced by size. The kicker here is what I need is real close to the limit of it going into what's called OS2 rates, then cost of shipping...

ML Boatworks 1/8th Scale Newton 172 Extreme Prop Walk

2 1/2" to 3" should get it done. Since it's a straight blade angle in towards hull 7-10 degrees. Keep in mind the more angle the less tolerant the boat will be for left turn corrections.

ML Boatworks 1/8th Scale Newton 172 Extreme Prop Walk

That's not the front to rear angle you're running the turn fin at is it? If it is I suggest adjusting it so the bottom of the fin is parallel to your set up table.
