    7.5 equi pipe length

Ok. The big belly pipe runs great on most all 7.5 outboard engines. 3” from the header end to the center of the 90 degree where it turns up to the engine is a great starting point for this pipe.

    7.5 equi pipe length

Bob, That is a 60 Equi big belly but looks the same as 7.5 Equi big belly pipe. You can see the Equi original header and stinger curved ends.

    7.5 equi pipe length

Alan, Yes. The original 7.5 equi was basically the same but with larger stinger. Not sure if Bob has the original pipe or modified Equi “big belly” Carl references above. Due to the smaller volume, the original needs to be run much longer than the big belly pipe which can be shortened...

    Head clearance. Nova DD 21

John, The dish is easy to measure. Insert your gauge into the head button. Remove the piston/rod assy. Place the headbutton on top of the piston. Zero out your gauge. Place the headbutton/gauge onto a clean flat glass surface. The number you see will be the dish depth at center bore. It should...

    Head clearance. Nova DD 21

Ok. That will work Sam utilizing a depth gauge to measure to piston top at TDC, and subtract the button reach and shim thickness, but in my experience, wont be as accurate as measuring with the button and shims mounted and tightened to the case.

    Head clearance. Nova DD 21

Sam, Danny is right. If you are measuring center of piston (most accurate method) you have to allow for the dish top piston. I have had several boaters adjust for what they thought was a .006-.008 clearance, just to find out later they were negative and ended up knocking the bottom out of the...
