    Zen Easy Start

Thanks Daniel! I crudely did it how you did it. I made an arbor that threads into the pawl and chucked it in my drill press which I used like a vertical lathe. Came out perfectly. Thanks all for your input! Marty

    Zen Easy Start

Thanks Mike! I guess if I was going to do it myself I would cut off and file flat the thread boss the equivalent of the thickness of the spacer and use blue loctite on the threads to install hand tight as you mentioned. Does that sound like that would be sufficient? Marty

    Zen Easy Start

Thanks Mike! Their website doesn't specify if the machine work has been done. I'll have to call Al to confirm. My concern with doing it myself is I would think the mating surface to the flywheel would have to be perfectly square and flat. Without a lathe or mill, I don't feel confident I could...

    Zen Easy Start

Hey guys, Anyone know who sells the Zen easy start kit with the thread boss already machined down that eliminates the need for the spacer? Thanks, Marty

    Prop Destruction

When I posted this thread it was not my intention to disrespect any of the prop manufacturers or the prop guys that all supply invaluable services to our sport. If anyone took offense please accept my deepest apologies. My goal here was to gain some knowledge and communicate amongst the other...

    Blazer Slingshot Kit

Based on past experience with mine I'm not so sure that would be enough airflow to get rid of the excess heat and supply enough air for the carburetor IMHO. Those are good size holes but hard to say what the airflow pattern around them will be at speed. Last thing you want is super heated air...

    Blazer Slingshot Kit

Nice job Bruce, they look great! Just need some cowl air supply cutouts for your boats. I made large cutouts with black screen installed over them from inside. Highly functional and looks awesome. Marty

    Boat catty.

Wow, how do you guys find time to come up with all this stuff? Pretty cool! I can barely keep up with the boats themselves, lol Marty

    Prop Destruction

Stainless any better in relation to blade failures? Heat treating like some do of an ABC prop have any affect regarding blade failures? Marty

    Prop Destruction

The prop I had in my initial post was an ABC 2817 19 .38 that was from recent stock. Hopefully these are just isolated cases but how else would we know if there was a common problem with these ABC props without feedback from others on this and other forums? This begs the question...do the...

    Prop Destruction

Hi Chris, Thanks for your input... I purchased it RTR from one of our other well known prop guys here on the forum. Prop was absolutely awesome on all of my gas riggers up to that point. I think he is in touch with ABC about it. Thank you very much though Chris for the offer of assistance...

    Prop Destruction

Hey guys, In 35 years of racing I've never had a prop throw a blade like this. This was on one of my gas riggers. If you look closely it appears to me there is a void and some porosity in the blade material. I can't believe it hit something because the other blade is perfect and the rudder was...

    Flex shaft Setup??

Terry, IMO, a straight shot from the C/L of the collet thru a short sleeve that goes thru the bottom of the hull. This is needed for strut adjustments and also makes it so the stuffing box tube is replaceable. Then, a smooth wide sweeping radius bend starting from the sleeve bottom exit to make...

Rattle can polyurethane gloss clear spray!

I totally agree with Jeff and Rick... The 2K clear is inexpensive ($20 from Amazon) and goes on really smooth and looks awesome. 2 wet coats is plenty. No yellowing or fuel issues ever. After mixing and spraying, store it in the fridge. Stays usable for over a month. Can't ask for much more...

    converting gas to electric

Dan, I can't believe I'm hearing you talk about going electric! I do understand your situation though... You have been the primo gas boat designer and builder seems like forever. I'm sure once you figure it out it will be great. A lot of really knowledgeable electric guys here that are more than...

    Gas Rigger Prop Recommendations

Thanks for the pics Rich! Are there any specs available on these particular props? Sounds like they are hard to get from your previous post. Expensive props also while considering shipping from Australia? Man I would love to try some of these... Marty
