Digital Clock from Ric Carpenter - Need help identifying electronics.

Brian, you can connect a diode in series in the input to prevent future mishaps as noted in other post by Daniel's Racing. Or, better yet put a full wave bridge rectifier in the power leads input circuit so it will function normally regardless of battery polarity at the input wires. Diodes...

Why would anyone think this is a good idea?

"Chaos-GPT decided that the best option to achieve its evil objectives was to reach power and influence through Twitter." Influence & control via social media? That's no innovation, the democrats figured that out decades ago...

One of the most shocking and disturbing things I've ever heard or saw.

Don't like the content? Attack the source - oldest trick in the book - standard democratic strawman.

    Futaba receiver antennas getting hot?

Thanks Mike, good stuff there. Looks like for boats, vertical orientation is the ticket - as the boat turns with vertical antenna orientation it never hits the "antenna pointed at" dead spot. Going to have to remind/retrain myself to maintain transmitter antenna orientation to vertical or...

    Futaba receiver antennas getting hot?

If you ever come across it, I'm interested. Here's a good explanation of things in relative terms: Does antenna orientation (vertical/horizontal) matter? Most RF noise is known to be vertically polarized. Not suggesting that amounts to a hill of beans with RC models, just a condition worthy...

    Futaba receiver antennas getting hot?

Same here Frank. I like the way you think. I recently dumped ethernet routers new still in the box into the recycle bin. First one I installed in a pro audio rack had issues, figured it was a fluke and swapped it out, second one worked. Then sent one to California to a buddy in a rack I...

    Futaba receiver antennas getting hot?

I've always ran vertical whip on boats and rc cars that can flex. With stage wireless mic systems we run receiver antennas at 45 degrees relative to vertical as nobody holds a mic vertical. Model aircraft don't use vertical antenna orientation. Boats are a different animal relative to the RF...

    Women can be so Toxic

Been there......done that......paid the lawyers.....bought the T-Shirt. Get as far away from it as fast as you can....don't just walk away......RUN.....put it in the rear view mirror dude. Only one way to deal with narcissistic/toxic and that's GTFooD - that came from a behavioral psychologist...

    Futaba receiver antennas getting hot?

That's a fact. And if it doesn't develop a leak on it's own, a crash will fix that.

    G3 Backlash

When you do the radio range check it's best to have the engine running. Vibration could cause electrical noise that may interfere with radio range and/or performance.

This CMB 1.01 will find it's deeper meaning of life in an Outrigger. :) That's an adorable little navigator Andy.

The Nitro Fairy stopped by today

That pretty much sums it all up. When dealing with others in life, does it leave your battery drained or charged? It's really that simple.

The Nitro Fairy stopped by today

Delay? That wasn't no stinkin' delay! I still haven't got to boat built yet, the engine will be motivating to get moving on the project. It'll definitely get fed well. :)

Parts Wanted Don pickert fuel injection

Yep. Not suggesting Don copied Perry, but the Pinkert fuel metering block design is similar to how the low/midrange barrel adjustment works on a Perry Carburetor.

    Sullivan Dynatron

That's the most likely place it would fail electrically - at the commutator. Losing a winding internally due to breakage, is a rare thing - assuming it's not burned down - and it isn't, as you you see/smell heat evidence if it smoked it like that. I gave a Dynatron away in the Christmas thread...
