Definitely want to use relays to switch the high inrush current starters. I use 30A Bosch automotive relays in tandem - parallel two of them. Also favor the corded stuff, keep battery packs and relays separated from start motor. These days I run a Sullivan Megatron on 14.4V as it turns slower...
