    Valken hydro

I hope the videos help. I couldn't find any actual pictures of the boat :(

Make a Hydroplane Turn Left and Right

Not really. The water will still be thrown up into one side or the other of the hull bottom in the turns unless he slows the boat down to where it's falling off plane. If he's got to slow down that much, he might as well leave the fin on the back of the right sponson to make the boat still...

    Valken hydro

I saw the boat back in 2011, in Madison. IIRC, the boat was a plain black(no metal flakes), red and white with decals on top. Here's four videos from 2011:

Make a Hydroplane Turn Left and Right

John, the issue with that is that water will be thrown up against the bottom of the hull. Unlike a drag boat, a hydroplane has "airtraps" that hold air under the hull which, in turn, supports the hull. Unlike air, water will be forced up against the bottom of the boat on one side of the fin...

    Boat weight effect.

I have to agree with Dave's post. To take it one step further, the more weight you end up with, the more it's going to cost you. When it comes to boats, more weight means: more power is needed to get the boat up on plane top end will be lower since the boat will probably have more contact...

    DUMAS KIT PRICES

You can order the 30" Pak directly from Dumas. They're asking $110 plus shipping for the kit. The last one I built, back in 2011, I used the kit as templates so I could build it from better materials and lighten up the hull.

    Winston Eagle Neon Orange

I had my present Elam's paint scanned at a local auto body supply shop several years ago. The NE503 was what the system came up with along with, IIRC, PPG Coca Cola White. Last I checked, the white is still available, the orange, has been the issue. IF TCP Global has the 503 orange, it will...

    Winston Eagle Neon Orange

Nice to know it's still available. I'll have to give them a shout. Thanks Brian :)

    Winston Eagle Neon Orange

HOK may not be producing all of the neon or fluorescent paints anymore. I need some fluorescent orange to paint a 2000 Elam and haven't been able to find it at my local sources. They are telling me it's probably not available do to lack of demand for it.

    O S 9B Carb Needle Valve Issue

I've heard OS no longer makes the 9B carb. Does anyone know of a source for the "O" rings used to seal around the needle valve or the needle itself? I've had issues with my CMB .67 Greenhead engines quitting and someone told me it was a leaking needle issue. I figure it can't hurt to try...

    1/8th scale hull question

This might help you out. Go to the link below and scroll to pages 9 and 10. The 8700 is on page 9, 8710 is on page 10: https://www.rcunlimiteds.com/_files/ugd/1fdd7a_1197146d5f6f4d179390c04c69ab9a6b.pdf To be legal to race in the scale class, you would need to have a clear windshield with a...

    1/8th scale hull question

The original post was "So question is what is difference in hull one is 8710 and other is 8700", so I replied to basically that. I didn't worry about the rest since, as already noted, the cowl has to be changed and it wasn't mentioned if the boat had to be race legal or not. I figured the rest...

    1/8th scale hull question

Depends on how much of a stickler you are. The 8700 is(full sized as built) 6" longer, 6" wider and has a 10" deeper picklefork depth than the 8710. The 8700 has a 15" shorter afterplane meaning the 8710 has smaller sponsons. The tunnel width and hull depth are the same. With that said, the...

ML Boatworks 1/8th Scale Newton 172 Extreme Prop Walk

It could also be the rudder needs to be readjusted for more left when it's centered. My 2000 Elam requires the rudder right face to be close to parallel to the boats centerline to prevent it from walking. I'm running a two blade Prather stainless prop that's been balanced, sharpened and...

Oh yea we need battery powered lawn equipment

I bought a Ryobi 21" 40V lawn mower a few months ago. Came with two batteries, is set up to run on one at a time and has slots for both with a switch to change from one to the other when the first gets discharged. Didn't think I'd like it, WRONG!!!! Being self-propelled, it's night and day...

Steve wood how is he doing?

It might not be that easy, Mike. I haven't talked to my parents or, for that matter, my brothers and one sister in 20 years either. It's a long, and to some, a stupid story in my case but that's the way my mother wants it so that's just the way it is.

    Yikes!!!! Really???

I know, they're basically junk to anyone but a serious collector. It's just fun to dream once in a while.

    Yikes!!!! Really???

I'm thinking the same thing, Frank. I have two K&B .67s, never seen fuel with one NIB. That's got to be worth at least a few grand for both 🤔

    FUTABA USA

I have to agree, Bill. I've had no issues with my two 4PLS, other than one that had to be reset for some strange reason. What I've found interesting is that I've never seen any programming upgrades for it. Mike, is the 4PLS that "outdated" that there's no way to improve the programming...
