I have found all the notching to be more of a detriment to a build. The exposed end grain makes a TON MORE sealing responsibility to keep the boat from water damage. I now try to minimize it.

Looks like a fun build

I made some progress with the kit build.

I made a carbon cowl on my mold.

I glued the sponson ribs and clipped the sponsons to the tunnel. The shape is becoming visible!

I made some progress on the kit build. I started assembling the sponsons, sealed the tunnel with epoxy, and I made a carbon cowl.

Very nice looking build. A quick word of caution on carbon cowl. Make sure your antennae isn't enclosed. I found out the hard way with a boat 20 feet up on the bank.

After 4 years, my T800 F1 is still a great boat to run! I love the looks of an F1 boat on the water.

Here's a video of yesterday's run. It was quite windy, so I put the lipo forward, making it run a bit wet.

It ran 58mph on 6S with 1650kV 3674 motor, and a 643 prop.

I sold 7 of these hulls to a German club. They will race them in their own competition next season!
