Flex cable shaft materiel?

I want to start building and brazing my own flex cable/shaft assemblies because I'm having a bad run of luck with the assemblies from Zipp, OSE, and Gizmo lately.

Anyone know what grade of stainless they use on the shafts, 304 or 316?

I know this isn’t the answer to your question. But I’ve used this place for awhile and have no complaints. I recall him saying he also makes cables for other companies. Good quality haven’t broken a shaft in a few years and on the other hand I inspect my cables frequently before a problem happens. Knock on wood haven’t lost a prop in a very long time

Chris, I have used 316SS when I built my own.

If you want to try another source, Mark Bullard builds some nice shafts that are brazed...
