RC boating has been a passion for me since my first RC boat in the early 1960's. With help from my father I built a boat named the Wavemaster from an English kit. I used a Kraft 6 channel reed radio and a ED 3.5 Sea Otter diesel engine for power. The model boater who inspired me the most was an IMPBA hall of fame member by the name of Ed Kalfus. Ed built a White Heat 4-60 with his own hand built engine and Proportional Radio which in the 1960"s did not exist. Ed was a engineer for IBM in Poughkeepsi NY. My 26 year career in the USAF exposed me to many RC boat people and places but I never stayed in one place long enough to become a full time racer. I did however run a Hughey 45 boat in the 1980 NAMBA nationals in LA, the year may not be correct. Many thanks to the people who have built this Web Site and all those that post their ideas and comments, without things like this site people in places like Alaska would have no idea whats going on in the RC boating world. Thanks to everyone.
