This photo clearly shows the very high placement of the wrist pin in the piston. Doing this reduces the connecting rod's angle at the 90 & 270 deg points, which means, the forces acting on the connecting rod & the piston are also greatly reduced. This is an important feature for very high RPM (32,000 to 35,000)! Also notice the very distinct "wear band" above the wrist pin hole. This wear band will still be there after many hours of running & this tells me this is the only place where the piston rubs very hard on the liner wall. Also notice the closely spaced, 8-32 bolts, 8 in number, used in the liner lip to ensure very even tightening of the head. This technique is used on many types of high pressure flanges.
