Steve Reynolds discussing the Circus Circus Merlins in 1979. "We really had to dig the Rolls-Royce Merlins out of the woodwork. Some of the engines that we acquired came from all corners of the Earth--in South America, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Europe. Merlins are hard to find these days, but they're still out there. The money invested is substantial where Merlins are concerned because of the shipping costs. So the market value is quite high. They're not $150 surplus engines gathering dust on the end of an airfield in Indianapolis or Los Angeles anymore."
