The Themac tool post grinder has been modified with a special mount & can now be used to grind ID's on the Super tech OD-ID grinder. There is also a special mount for face grinding in the lathe. Notice that the spindle of the Themac grinder can be rotated completly around the housing, allowing it to be positioned on the center line of the chuck or holding device. A custom made wheel dresser is also shown in the photograph. The Themac spindle uses ABEC-7 bearings; runs 4200 to 42,000 rpm; & can easily hold .000050 tolerances on parts. The grinder has a 1/2 hp motor which runs at 10,000 rpm. This versatile grinder uses wheels from 1/8 to 5 in., in dia & as wide as 3/4 in. Many of the wheels, arbors & split collets used are custom made.
