After wraping the .008 tin steel around this forming device & cutting the steel to allow .109 overlap, the piece is clamped on one end. The aluminum piece has been removed at this point which allows the arm of the resistance welder to be inserted in the opposite end for spot welding. Spot welding is now done to the opposite end & at several points in between.
A small amount of solder secures this permanent joint.
