These tools are used in a press to insert or remove bearings. Insertion tools are necessary to insure square alignment & complete seating of the bearings in their bores. Notice that the pressure force is applied to the outer race only, when the bearings are inserted into their bores. A light weight grease holds the bearing by its outer race for insertion.
