These hardened & ground gages allow precise grinding of the bearing bores to the correct size. A .0008 interference fit is used on the rear main & a .0005 on the front main in all assemblies made. Each gage is .0002 under nominal size to insure proper bearing fit. Only custom assembled high clearance ceramic bearings can be used at these interference fits when using a hardened steel front end!
