Hull was built in 1987 as the MIller American and ran most of the season with John Prevost at the controls. When both of the Muncey teams hulls were beat up at the Gold Cup in Detroit, the Circus Circus became the easier one to fix. With Miller verticals and Hanauer driving, the hull won the Gold Cup. After the Seattle race, hull was swapped with the Miller team for the rest of the season.
