Cowling has the fin on the top (was run that way all year). In addition, a front spoiler was added prior to the race in El Dorado, Kansas to keep the boat from getting too loose. Final stats in 1979 - 24 heats started, 21 finished, 9 first place finishes, 6 in second place, 5 in third place, 1 in fourth place. Final heat finishes - 2nd in Miami, 2nd in Evansville, DNF in Detroit (lost the prop), 2nd in Madison (Gold Cup), DNF in El Dorado (nitrous fouled the spark plugs), DNF in Tri Cities (another lost prop), 4th in Seattle (jumped the gun), DNF in Ogden (yet another lost prop) and 1st in San Diego.
