Jeff I used the same knife on the little 12. You will need to cut them with a cut-off wheel or grinder and carbide to drill holes. Use a little oil and slow RPM when drilling. My biggest problem was keeping my fingers away from the edge, very sharp. What ya building???

Have heard several times that a nice thin SAW rudder can be made from a knife blade. I never understood it until today when I saw a knife in

Is this what has been used?

That's the knife blade that i was referring to. Parallel front and rear, and slight wedge. Very hard and stiff. But as David said, watch your fingers around the pit table or retrieve boat. You will need to come up with a water cooling method for the larger classes. You can silver solder a hypodermic tube to the back edge with a barb sticking out the bottom.
