The ML kits are based on drawings from Newton, which are 1/8 scale drawings for the most part. There are no build instructions and they require a good knowledge of scale hydro construction. The rc unlimiteds web site has some older videos along with Scot's videos that will help.
If the base isn't fuel proof. Everything will be fine until you get a scratch in the clear. Usually happens somewhere in the engine compartment. Then the whole paint job lifts.
It was actually designed to tilt the engine back lifting the nose when turned. Way back when, I fitted one to a boat. Made an evil boat worse. We also ran turn fins back then on most tunnels.
This is the first wide body boat. Another wide body is ready to go to the east coast, and a standard boat to another local. The prototype nitro boat is almost done. Been busy in the boat shop. These boats take me a ton of time to build.
Exhaust temp would be better if you are trying to use the data to tune with. Cylinder head if you want to be able to see if a water line comes off etc.
